Fairtrade Fortnight is in full swing and we have already received a great deal of press coverage for our events and activities. Our award winning Bumfluff nappy balm was featured in The Independent yesterday and our Relieving Trio of oils was part of the Fairtrade focus in The Metro last Thursday.

So, armed with our Fairtrade coffees, we are busily getting ready for the first of our events, ‘Baby Steps to Fairtrade’ in conjunction with Red Jelly creative play in Brighton where we are inviting little ones and their parents to paint their footprints for us to exhibit as part of a display at our second event at Brighton and Hove Junior School on Friday evening.

We use as many Fairtrade ingredients as are possible to source for our skin care range and all of our products have been certified by the Fairtrade Foundation. Fairtrade provides a better deal for producers in developing countries, creating opportunities for farmers and workers to improve their lives, their communities and protect their environment.

Take the raw shea butter we use in our nappy balm for example. This is produced in Ghana by the Akoma Co-operative Multipurpose Society who process nuts gathered from the karite tree grown in Bolgatanga Upper East Region Ghana.
